FAQ

Where is your office located?
My counseling practice is 100% virtual. No need to worry about driving and getting stuck in traffic. We will meet via the Internet in the comfort of your home or office.
What are your hours?

I generally see clients from 11 am to 6 pm Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 4 pm on Fridays, and occasionally on Saturday mornings.

How long are the sessions, and how often will we meet?

Individual Sessions: 30 minutes or 50 minutes.  Couples sessions:  60 minutes or 90 minutes.

How often we will meet depends on your needs. We can meet weekly, biweekly, or once per month.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am In-network provider with Optum, Aetna and Cigna

How do I set up an initial appointment?
We can begin with a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your immediate concerns and see if we are a good fit.
What is your cancellation policy?
My cancellation policy requires that you provide 24 hours’ notice to cancel. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be charged for your full session.
Who do you work with? Men? Women? What age?
I work with men, women, and couples from 18 to 85 years old.
What do you do in sessions with clients?
I’m here to listen to you. We will use talk therapy to identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?
That depends on the client’s needs. If I see the need for any homework assignments between sessions, they will be intended to focus on what we have discussed during session and emphasize healthy coping skills.
What modalities do you use in your client work?

I take a holistic approach to counseling so that I can help you in the three domains: mind, body, and spirit.

Using a Christian lens, I integrate the modern strengths-based approach of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. For Trauma cases, I include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in the process.

What else does a client need to know to make the most out of working with you?
Psychotherapy is not a quick fix. You will find me to be genuine and transparent in this process, and I hope that I can expect the same from you.
Cats or dogs?
I am a nature lover and an animal lover at heart! I can watch a nature channel or Animal Planet anytime for hours. As far as having a pet, I prefer dogs because they stay on the floor, off my kitchen counters. LOL!
What countries have you traveled to?
I have traveled to Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Canada, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, and The British Virgin Islands. I’m hoping to do some more traveling soon. 😊
